The Tennessee Dragons 12u Fastpitch softball team took home a second-place trophy from the TNL/NSA All Nighter tournament in Owensboro Kentucky this weekend. Leading the Dragons were Taylor Quast and Taylor Vestal with huge offensive and defensive efforts.

The Dragons made it to the Championship Game by winning a hotly contested extra inning game against Toxic Extreme by the score of 11 to 8. The teams combined for 29 hits in the contest. Quast went three for three in the game from the plate and also drove in two game-winning runs with a triple in the top of the final inning. Quast then made a diving catch in center field to preserve the victory.

Vestal played incredibly throughout the tournament. She batted .600 from the plate and had a .750 on base percentage. Defensively, she continuously made plays from the catcher, second base and right field positions.

The Dragons will be back on the field March 8 in Cookeville Tennessee. Come out and see the Dragons compete against some of the best 12u softball teams anywhere!

Dragons Attend University of Tennessee Camp at Columbia
Dec 9, 2013, 5:21 pm

The TN Dragons Fastpitch Softball Teams were privileged to attend an excellent softball camp on December 7, 2013, in Columbia, Tennessee.

Conducting the camp were former Univeristy of Tennessee standout players Shelby Burchell, Ivy Renfroe and Ashley Andrews. Dragons pitchers experienced lessons from Ivy Renfroe, who currently pitches professionally with the Akron Racers of the National Pro Fastpitch league. Our catchers got great tutelage from one of the toughest catchers anywhere in Ashley Andrews. Shelby Burchell brought on a whole new awareness of the game to our fielders as well.

The highlight of the camp was the banquet where the Tennessee players interacted with our Dragons and gave advice to our players, coaches and parents on how to best handle the environment of softball. All who attended were truly enriched by the experience. Any young player, her coaches and parents would benefit from attending a University of Tennessee Softball camp in the future!

The players, coaches and parents of the TN Dragons want to thank these quality young ladies for spending some time with us as we learn and grow as a softball family.

With the support of precision pitching from Hannah Richardson and Kirsten Eversole and the power hitting of Bailey Lasater, Brittany Harris and Kaylee Scharfman, the TN Dragons 12u softball team took home a Third Place trophy in the ISA Fall State Tournament in Crossville this weekend.

The newest Dragon, Julia Barnett, showed everyone why she was a great addition to the team by hitting .667 and scoring 4 runs for the tournament.

Top notch defensive plays from Lindsay Adkison, Kendall Arnold and Kat Dimmick sealed the wins for the Dragons against some tough competition in Crossville.

This team is really coming together as a cohesive unit. Coach Rad wants to thank the parents for all the hard work they do to make this team a reality!

The Tennessee Dragons roared to a fifth-place finish in the ISA Tennessee State tournament in Crossville Tennessee this weekend!

Lead by outstanding hitting from Hannah Richardson (.888 batting average for the weekend), Brittany Harris, Lindsay Adkison and Michaela O'Connell (6 RBI's each) the Dragons were able to defeat some of the toughest pitching they have seen all year!

And if you saw ESPN cameras at the fields, hopefully they got footage of those awesome catches made by Boo and Lindsay against the Collierville Dragons!

But the Dragon of the Tournament was Brianna Acklin. All that kid did this Saturday was get up early and travel 80 miles out of her way with a separated shoulder just to support the Dragons. She could not play at all, but she could yell her lungs out for her buddies. THAT IS A TEAMMATE FOLKS!!!!!

The TN Dragons return to Crossville in 2 weeks to compete in the ISA WORLD SERIES!!!! Some of the best teams in the country will be there to do battle!
